In this paper, we proposed the TOPSIS to the fuzzy environment where the rating of alternatives versus criteria and the importance weights of criteria are assessed in linguistic terms represented by fuzzy numbers. The criteria are categorized into benefit and cost ones. To avoid complicated aggregation of fuzzy number, these normalized weighted ratings are into crisp values by applied method of an area between the centroidand original points of a fuzzy number. A closeness coefficient is defined to determine the ranking order of all alternative by calculating the distanceto both the positive and negative-ideal solutions. Finally, an example is shown to highlight the procedure of the proposed method at the end of this paper.
