چکیده:

In order to enhance the seismic behaviors of structural systems, new structural design methods and systems are being suggested every day. A broadly accepted approach to examine the performances is to study the nonlinear dynamic behaviors in view of the method called RHA (Response History Analysis). With regard to the key point of the RHA method, i.e., time integration analysis, this paper demonstrates theoretically and numerically, that, unless the parameters of time integration are selected carefully, the outcomes may be unrealistic and lead to incorrect consequences.
