The creep behavior of soil may be interpreted using viscoelastic models. Current paper presents an interpretation of soil consolidation test results based on the generalized Maxwell model. Several consolidation tests were carried out on different types of soil and time dependent behaviors were studied. Then constants of generalized Maxwell body dependency on effective stress, and creep settlement dependency on variation of G1 η ۱,η ۲ were evaluated. The proposed method was also compared with cα method. It was conclude that the proposed model is an effective and useful tool for definition of creep behavior explicitly in long term.
