All of these studied has been focused on liquid phase systems and no studies have been found on the jet mixing for gas-liquid two phase systems. Since the gas-liquid agitated vessels extensively applied in chemical and related processes with considering the jet mixing advantages, in the present study the using of jet fluid as a mixer in gas-liquid systems is proposed and by installing an experimental setup the mixing behavior of liquid phase as one of the required parameters in designing stirred gas-liquid systems was studied. In the mixing vessel the gas phase is induced from bottom jet flow is injected counter-currently with the gas flow from the top of the vessel. In this study, the effect of jetinjection and the location of conductivity probe on the mixing time, as a measure of the intensity of liquid mixing, are investigated. It is observed that, for low aeration rates the injection of jet decreases the mixing time considerably. Results also show that whatever the probe is near the encounter location of jet and air flow, the lower mixing time is obtained. The dependence of mixing time on the probe location decreases by increasing the mixing intensity and eliminating the dead zones.
