Offshore exploration and production of minerals is advancing into deeper water at a fast pace Many deepwater structures have already been installed in waters of the world. Many of these field are small and the economic development of these fields is a challenge today to the offshore engineers. This has initiated development of new structures and concepts such SeaStar TLPs. Tension leg platforms are another type of offshore structures, which have been used for deep water oil/gas exploration. Different soft wares and mathematical codes have been developed by scientists to analyze the motions of this kind of platforms in different environmental conditions. Some thimes the results got from numerical codes are not exact enough and scientists cannot be confident about the results due to different assumptions in numerical codes. To validate or improve their results and cods throught different types the physical model testing leg platform is required . the purpose of this paper is to discuss the physical model testing of offshore structures. In continue a SeaStar tension leg platform has been modeled with proper scale in Froude model.
