چکیده:

The composites formulations were devised by a 2 – level fractional factorial experimental design of 8variables using a software. The 16compounds were prepared by melt mixing in an internal mixer at 200°C in a closed system. Burning rate and Thermal resistances of the samples were measured. Excellent flame retardancy obtained by the samples in runs : 16 , 6 , 3 and 9. onset of oxidation
temperature (OOT), 50% weight loss temperature (T50) and onset of weight loss temperature (OWLT) of the samples in runs : 16 , 6 , 4 and 5 showed the high thermal resistance. The sample 16 containing l%wt organo nano silicate and 50%wt Mg (OH)z was the best with th’e highestflame and thermal resistances. The results were tested by a model. A good agreement between predicted values and the actual values for these responses is achieved.
