چکیده:

This paper describes in some detail the Power Application Software provided with the new Iranian National control center. It analyzes the potential benefits these programs bring for optimized control of the Iranian Power System, and it illustrates the latest trends in the technology of power application software. The complexity of modern day large interconnected power systems is such that they can no longer be controlled by operators without the help of sophisticated tools to assist the operator in decision making. These decision must ensure that the power system is operated, in order of priority, to provide a good quality electrical energy in a secure, reliable manner with the optimum economic conditions. Such tools are provided by power application functions which help the dispatcher to o perate the system in secure, reliable and economic way.
The paper presents benefits of each of these power application functions, focusing onoperator interaction and experience gained during the implementation of such functions for a large power system. The trends in a modern control center are highlighted. The conc ept of power application being executed in national control center and its results being available to all area control centers is discussed in detail. This concept facilitates a cost effective, coordinated centralized operation in a hierarchical power system providing each area a complete picture of its neighboring network.
