چکیده:

Most steam power station of Iran consumes residualfuel oil an average 2% sulphur content. This will produce a huge amount of sulphurdioxide resulting from the combustion of fuel and air.The undesirable effects Of S02 on human life and on the environment are well known. Flue gas desulphurization (FGD) is one of the control methods which is used in industrial countries.The aim of this article is to describe technically different types of this system and to present capital and running costs. Finally, the most effective methods for the control of S02 and alsoarameters considered in power plant for the circumstances of Iran are discussed and suggested.
