چکیده:

The Iranian Energy Ministry is in the process of installing nationwide one of the most advanced Power System Control Facilities to monitor, control and optimize the production, transmission and distribution of electricity on the Iranian Grid. This project is one of the largest and most ambitious of its kind, with the installation of one National Control Center, six Area Control Centers and about 200 Remote Terminal Units
(RTU) scattered throughout the country. The National Control Center comprises the most advanced real-time Power Application programs to assist operators in their decision making, a Dispatcher Training Simulator, and Automatic Generation Control Facilities. All relevant Power Application results are transmitted to the Area Control Centers for the benefit of all dispatchers controlling the Iranian grid. The most recent computer and software technology has been provided for the larger centers. This paper describes their most innovative and interesting aspects.
