Peak constrained weighted least square error (PCWLSE) design of symmetric FIR filters has already been addressed in literature. In this work we extend the procedure to the design of asymmetric FIR filters. It is shown that the formulation of such asymmetric FIR filters ends up to a semi-infinite problem with two uncountable variables. Something which is different in the symmetric FIR filters that ends up to a semi-infinite problem with one uncountable variable. Here, an efficient method is proposed to deal with two uncountable variables. Therefore, one can design PCWLSE asymmetric FIR filters to satisfy all the continuous constraints of the problem. Furthermore, the desired phase response is also guaranteed. The proposed method has been developed based on exploiting the dual parameterization scheme derived directly from Karush Kuhn Tucker condition.
