چکیده:

Tuberculosis (TB) is a respiratory transmitted disease affects the world’s population, more than any other infectious disease (nearly 32%). Among the infected individuals, approximately eight million develop active TB, and almost two million of these die from this disease [1]. The failure of anti-TB chemotherapy is mainly due to patient non compliance, which is attributed to the requirement of multidrug administration daily or several times a week for at least 6 months; hence, reduction in dosing frequency forms an important therapeutic strategy [2].Therefore the development of novel drug delivery approaches that enhance the bioavailability of drugs at the level of lungs is demanded [3]. Novel methodologies such as nanoparticle based formulations may offer tremendous opportunities to improve chemotherapies of systemically and locally TB. This study highlights some of the issues of nanotechnology relevant to the anti-TB nanoparticle-based drugs
