Due to global competition, companies are under greater pressure than over to reduce time to market, delivery time, and cost as well as continuous improvement. Nowadays, more than over, change is essential to satisfying expectations. Theory of constraints (TOC) is a body of knowledge on the effective management of (mainly business) organizations, as systems and its thinking processes are tools to help people walk through a buy-in process. Six Sigma is a methodology to manage process variations that cause defects, defined as unacceptable deviation from the mean or target; and to systematically work towards managing variation to eliminate those defects. Integration of TOC and Six Sigma methodologies will help organizations evaluate and improve production or transactional systems in order to meet the customer expectations. At this paper we discuss and suggest an application of TOC tools in improving the efficiency of implementing Six Sigma methodology. This synergy between tow techniques will increase the prosperity of six sigma projects and its breakthrough strategy.
