Analysis of structures by the Optimization Methods (ASOM) in introduced. A suitable algorithm for carrying out the optimization process, i.e. the BFGS algorithm is selected and its implementation is discussed. The application of the method in analysis of plane frames, two – and three- dimensional continuum problems, computation of minimum and maximum frequencies of shear-buildings, and fitting a nonlinear curve to a set of data is discussed. In each case the problem is formulated. Typical example is analyzed. The results are compared with that of classical methods (such ad FEM, etc) . The accuracy, efficiency , and versatility of ASOM are verified . One may call ASOM a method for all seasons.
