چکیده:

Gas sensors based on carbon nanotubes (CNTs)-polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA) composite as the active element have been used for acetone vapour detection at room temperature. The polymeric film was formed by spin coating method on SiO2 substrate. Then they were activated by dropping the CNTs solution in acetone on the PMMA films. The structural properties are studied by SEM and Raman Spectroscopy. Although the SEM observations indicates that CNTs are fully covered by polymer the samples showed good sensitivity toward acetone vapour. Variation of sample electrical resistance after exposure of gas was measured by two-probe technique. CNT/ PMMA composites show gas sensitivity about 107% towards acetone vapour in 14% concentration
