چکیده:

Catalytic dehydration of methanol for production of dimethy ether (DME) is performed in an adiabatic fixed bed heterogeneous reactor. For this purpose, acidic gamma alumina is used for converting methanol to DME. Conversion of the Methanol at various temperatures and its changing with time by using two different feeds (pure methanol and methanol/water solution) are investigated. The results show that the catalyst deactivation in a process with methanol/water as the feed of process is very rapid in compared with pure methanol.
