چکیده:

A 2-D Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modeling was carried out in order to study the flow regimes in a vertical tube with 4 cm diameter and 4m height. The volume of fluid (VOF) model involving surface tension was used to model the two-phase flow. Velocity inlet and pressure outlet were applied as operating conditions. No slip condition was applied on the walls. By establishing various gas and liquid flow rates, the bubbly, plug, slug and mist flow regimes were observed inside the tube. The four different observed regimes showed good agreement with available pictures qualitatively.
