چکیده:

A radiant heater tube using a natural gas burner installed inside was designed to transfer the generated heat from the tube by radiation mode of heat transfer. The CFD modeling was carried out. Turbulent diffusion flames in the combustor were modeled numerically using the RNG version of k-ε model. The effects of Fuel/Air ratio on the heat transfer from the tube were investigated. From the predicted results optimum ratio of the fuel to air mass flow rates which gives maximum radiation flux was obtained. The predictions were explained by the temperature profile, the place of producing flame and the available area for radiation. In addition, it was found that the more unfavorable excess air can reduce the temperature in the whole tube.
