چکیده:

Internal core in embankment dam plays the important role of water tightening. Because of the plenty of clay available in nature and its ability for water tightening, clay has been used ad core material in most of the embankment dams so far. However, the many problems such ad large volume of clay core, lengthy process of construction, the need to stickler control of clay quality used, affects of the weather changing on the construction process, need for high quality filter and transition zone, etc, have caused new types of core material such as asphalt concrete being introduced as a replacement.
In this performed on asphalt concrete different temperatures are presented. These tests were carries out to measure the effect of temperatures of compaction on permeability of asphalt. It has been found that for a certain amount of compaction energy there exists an optimum temperature that if the asphalt is compacted at, thee minimum permeability can be reached . it was concluded that for the given asphalt material and compaction energy used in this research the optimum temperature foe compaction was 170+-5 Centigrade.
