چکیده:

Several applications of random vibration theory to solve soil dynamics problem is suggested. The paper estimates the stochastic nonlinear deformation of an earth dam by several methods. Differences between taking into account different vibration modes or neglecting them and results obtained, is discussed. It is important to note that stochastic method is simpler than usual iterative deterministic methods. The method in this paper is based on inhomogeneous shear beam model of the dam and a random methodology.
