چکیده:

Different turbulence models were applied to study an axisymmetric supersonic impinging jet on a ground plane. To verify the accuracy of computational predictions, the results were compared with experimental data. The numerical results of k-ε and k-ω models are better than LRR model although all of them capture the significant features of this complex flow. These models revealed the presence of the impingement zone stagnation bubble, which contain low velocity, high pressure recirculating flow. In this paper also a brief discussion is presented for the distance between Mach disc and the impinging plate, which plays an important rule in analysis of the complex flow in supersonic impinging jet.
