چکیده:

Objective: Vibrio species are one of the main bacterial groups in the environment that are known as opportunistic bacteria. Understanding the relationship between these species and stress factors can help to elucidate the cause of disease. Therefore, measuring the contamination level to these species loaded in shrimp body organs and its surrounded environment could be an effective way for health management of farms. The aim of this study was to investigate the contamination of shrimp farms to Vibrio sp.
Method & Materials: Water of Bahmanshir River, two water carrier canals (C4&C5) and water of 6 shrimp ponds were sampled twice in month from
May to the end of culture period of shrimp (October) in 2007. Shrimps were sampled on cultured period ( July to October 2007), weekly. Salinity, temperature and pH of water were measured through the experiment. Water samples of each station with sterile glassy bottle kept next to ice and live shrimps aseptically were taken and transferred to the Laboratory of Microbiology, Southern Iranian Aquaculture Research Center. Vibrio species were counted on selective media (TCBS with NaCl) by spread method.
Results & Conclusion: Results showed that average number of Vibrio species in 2 stations of the river, 2 water carrier canals and 6 ponds were 0.16×۱۰۳, ۰٫۲۲×۱۰۳ and 0.71×۱۰۳ CFU/ml, respectively. Analize of variance (total viable Vibrio count) showed no significant difference among 10 stations (P>0.05). In different month, with increase in water salinity and temperature, number of Vibrio species have increased (positive correlation). Total viable Vibrio sp. counted in ponds more than river and water carrier canals. Total viable Vibrio count in homogenized shrimp and hepathopancreas and gills of shrimps were 0.005-5.02×۱۰۵, ۰٫۰۳-۴٫۴×۱۰۵ and 0.001-0.92×۱۰۵, respectively.
