چکیده:

The design of the structure of molecules is a current challenge in science. Structures of the title compound was corroborated by IR and 1H NMR spectroscopies at first,and then by single-crystal x-ray diffraction at last. This structure can be used as tetradentate ligand in metal complexes. There is a centre of symmetry between twocentral carbon atoms. Stability of this crystal structure is explainable with intermolecular van der wals interaction between near molecules. In consequence ofthe center of symmetry in the middle of the arrangement, two carbon and two nitrogen atoms (N1-C8-C8-N1) are in a common plane with torsion angle of 180.0o. In addition, two dichlorophenyl rings are located in two parallel planes with zero dihedral angle.
