In this protocol, synthesis of a novel nanoreactor composed tungstate ion immobilized in hydrophobic nanospace of SBA-15 with high surface area and large pore diameters as a recyclable catalyst and disclosed its catalytic activity in the selective oxidation of organic sulfides to the corresponding sulfoxides or sulfones with hydrogen peroxide as a cheap, environmentally benign and readily available oxidant described. The catalyst can be recovered and reused for at least five reaction cycles under the described reaction conditions without considerable loss of reactivity.
