چکیده:

The aim of this paper is to present the result and experience gained from the design and real time implementation of optimal controllers (LQG,and MLQG), feeding supplementary signals to the classical control loops O(A VR and Governor) of turbine-generstor for stability enhancement Here two algorithms in discreet time domain have been considered and being tested. In the design stage, by using the linear optimal control theory concept the controllers are being designed and after preliminary evaluation (by the means of mathematical simulation in frequency and time domain) put for implementation. The real time test rig consist of a micro-alternator and prime mover coupled with multi stage inertia and shaft section for simulation of different section of rotating body and mode shape of a real set. The parameters of the test rig are adjusted so as to be similar to the 660 MW turbine-generator ( in term of per unit figures) . The controler real time realization is made possible by a PDP11 micro-computer. Like the prime mover and alternator. The other electrical part such as transmission fines, transformer, and power switch are scaled down replica of the real ones. Data acquistion system, consist of a sixteen channel input system, connected via and appropriate transducer to the plant for capturing the time variation of state variable.
