چکیده:

In this paper the design of a spiral conveyor equipped with a telescopic conveyor is to be introduced. The system is going to be used to convey the loads in the form of bags and cartoons vertically from the different levels of the stores to a conveyor on its top (located inside a boom) to be transferred to the stores in the port. The telescopic conveyor can help the workers to reach the bags at a certain level within the cargo ship.The mechanisms for the conveying elements, the luffing and slewing actions of the telescopic parts are to be demonstrated. The design standards and methodologies, the different composing elements with their dynamic actions and force analysis, the design optimization procedures will be explained briefly. In special, the design of a unit module of the spiral conveyor is to be described in detail.The stress analysis of the stiffening elements, the rollers and the connecting elements and also the structure would be shown.This system with its mechanisms is a new design. It is to be constructed in Rayco-Technic company and will be assembled to a ship unloader. The ship unloader is planned to work in Bandar Imam Khomaini in south of Iran.
