چکیده:

in this paper we use a new search heuristic called “Imperialist Competitive Algorithm” to design a optimal PID controller for a sample system. The PIDcontroller is designed in such a way that it minimizes the sum of settling time, rise time, maximum overshoot and integral absolute error. A comparison among Imperialist Competitive Algorithm and Genetic Algorithm is made through designing the controller.
