چکیده:

The Taguchi method with an L9 orthogonal array has been used to determine the optimum conditions for the production of furfural by acid hydrolysis of Iran sugarcane bagasse. The chosen experimental parameters and their ranges were (i) reaction time: 100 to 300 minutes, (ii) acid concentration (in weight): 2% to 6%, and (iii) reaction temperature: 102 to 128 o C. The optimum conditions were obtained from the Taguchi method and the experiment performed under these conditions to evaluate the production yield.
