چکیده:

The present investigation carry out to determine of sedimentation rate and heavy metals pollution in the Turkman Harbor and Bay of Gorgan, adjacent to the caspian sea. Using a phelger type cover, some sediment samples of 70cm length was collected at the site. 210 pb and 137 CS Techniques was used to find out rate of sedimentation. The result of dating is indicative of sedimentation rate between 1.34 to 2.01, based on 210pb and 137cs activities respectively. Interstingly, concentration of all studied metals increases toward core top that might be indicative of influence of man’s activities residing in catchment area and harbor, also oil exploration in the caspian sea, and Turkman harbor.
