While drilling and developing a reservoir,it is common to core in order to evluate some reservoir parameters such as: physical rock properties, capillary pressure (Pc), fluid saturation,….This coring and the concerning analysis may cause an immense expense, which some times reaches $ 100,000. EL Khatib(SPE-29890,1995) has performed a comprehensive research in Saudi Arabia fields, and a new modified capillary pressure J-function method has been developed to find the capillary pressure and saturation relationship to recognize the general behavior of the reservoir. In this survey, a new method has been firstly studied for Asmari reservoir of Marun field. For this purpose, the field data from archives of the reservoir engineering studies department the Pc-Sw relationship has been consulted and then a new relationship is generated for the mention reservoir. The results show a discrepancy of 3-13% error. The reason being that El Khatib model has been developed for Saudi Arabian field which are sand ston reservoir. While limeston and dolomite ( carbonate ) are the chief in gradients of Marun area. Overally, it was found that a good single correlation can be obtain for samples from the same formation but the correlations were different for various formations. This correlation is applicable for Asmari Marun field especially layer-2.
