چکیده:

According to independent studies by Battle in 1982, between 80-90% of all structural failures occur through a fatigue mechanism and this could be reduced up to 29% by application of current fatigue technology. However, without information on the anticipated load spectrum. the fatigue performance analysis of a atructure is impossible.
In this paper a new method is presented for load spectrum generation of an internal combustion engine, based on vehicle standard simulating systems, empirical information and theoretical calculations. As an example, the generated load spectrum has used for fatigue and crack growth analysis of a connecting rod.
