چکیده:

Dispersed phase holdup was measured in a pilot plant pulsed packed column of 76.2 mm diameter for two different systems in with and without mass transfer conditions. The effects of pulsation intensity, dispersed and continuous phases flow rates, interfacial tension and solute concentration on dispersed phase holdup were investigated. The results showed that by increasing pulsation intensity and dispersed and continuous phases flow rates the dispersed phase holdup increased, but the interfacial tension had reverse effect. The holdup also increased with an increase in solute concentration, when solute transferred from continuous phase to dispersed phase.
