چکیده:

cver the past decade, corrosion has come to be regarded as a crucial problmi on two counts:
{a) it is expensive to repair
b) it has wide spread occurrmca.
The present research sets out to evaluate the effects of cornsion on properties and flexural Mhaviour oE farrocement. In this relatian, two series of specimens were tested, The first series were cast, plkccd in water ‘and a suitable eritrirdment far 28 days, ard then subj eeted to f lemral test. The second series landerwe!st a sim5iar test, except that they were transferred to a <eather aiarulatox: tanks where corxasive e.nvirwmenta3,
conditians are created- After threz months these series were tested for flexure. Frm a careful mncination of the results of flexural tests it emerges that:
1) The presence of NaCl and tewerature, as well as the prevalence of wet and dry ~onditions, has a considerable effect on the flexural behaviour of ferrocement in that it not only increases the brittleness of mortar, but also – reduces the nurrber of cracks and increases their size.
2) The first crack strength and m a x i m strength of specimens have increased slightly.
3) affect of corrosion in reduclng the strength of ferrocement specimens with non-galvanized wire meshes, is greater than the effect of such conditions on specimeans having galvanized wire meshes
