In this study, the effect of fluorine ions on dissolution behavior and bioactivity of the apatite nanobioceramic was investigated. Fluoridated hydroxyapatite nanopowders with 100% degree of fluoridation (FA) and, also, hydroxyapatite (HA) were synthesized by solid-state reaction via mechanical alloying (MA) method. In vitro test indicated that the bioactivity of FA was less than HA since the dissolution rate, precipitation amount and the size of precipitated bone-like apatite crystals on the surface of FA samples were clearly lower than HA.
