چکیده:

Objective: Fish blood is affected by environmental stresses. Anesthesia is one of the important stress. Therefore measuring of blood serum biochemical factors and their variation could be a good indicator of fish health condition.
Method & Materials: 200 cultured fishes (Barbus sharpeyi), mean weight 99g, from soil pond of South of Iran Fisheries Research Center were caught and transferred to three fiberglass tanks. Then 60 fish were randomly caught and divided into 6 groups. No anesthetic drug was used for group1 (control). Five other groups were exposed to propofol anesthetic drug with 2,4,6,8 and 10 mg/l concentration by floating method. Then all fishes were bled from caudal peduncle and blood serum was separated. Some factors such as glucose, total protein, albumin, sodium, potassium, calcium and phosphate were measured.
Results & Conclusion: Duration of anesthesia was as follows: start time 78±۱۲ (when 2-10 ml/l propofol concentration was used). Complete time: 361±۲۸ in 2mg/, concentration to 61±۱۴into mg/lconcentration. Recovry: 175±۳۰ n 2mg/l to 318±۲۳ in 10 mg/l. In group anesthetized in 10 mg/l concentration with 3 fatalities, Survival rate was 70% and in the rest groups was 100% . Blood serum biochemical factors indicate that there are some differences (though partial and no meaningful), between different treatments andethetized with different porpoful concentrations and control treatment. Among different treatments and control treatment no significant difference was observed in glucose, Albumin, total protein, calcium (p >0.05), but in other factor such as sodium, potassium, phosphor partial differences were observed.
