Polyethersulfone (PES) membranes were prepared using phase inversion method. The effects of irradiation time (10, 60, and 120 s) and microwave power (180 and 900 watts) on morphology of membranes were studied. Increasing the irradiation time and power caused variation in permeate flux and ion rejection. Microwave irradiation results in alterations in membrane morphology. The AFM images represent that surface properties have been changed.
