Thiophene is one of the most important sulfur-contaning compounds in crude oil as pulution. The sulfur-contaning compounds in crude oil include sulfides, thiols, thiophenes, dibenzothiophenes(BT) and many considerably more complex molecules(1). Many research effort have been put into the investigation of ways for desulfurization and determination sulfur-contaning compounds(2,3).In this research, we investigated of electrochemical behaviour of thiophene first upon GC electrode and then upon the cobalt oxide nanoparticle modified GC electrode.The process of oxidation and kinetics have been investigation using cyclic voltametry(3,4,5).It was shown that by using the modified electrode, thiophene can be determined by amperometric technique(5,6).
