چکیده:

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) was applied as a principal tool to describe the efficiency of anticorrosive epoxy/Polypyrrole based on zinc oxide. The corrosion behaviour of Aluminium samples coated with epoxy/Ppy (ep), epoxy/ZnO (eZnO) and epoxy/Ppy-ZnO (epZnO) was investigated. Aluminium coated samples were exposed to a 3.5% NaCl solution. During the study the impedance values were monitored for 30 days. It was concluded the incorporation of nanosized ZnO (14 nm) pigment to the base mixture improves the anticorrosive properties of coatings. It was found that an epoxy/nanocomposites coating provides excellent protection against corrosion in comparison with other coatings. These enhancements have been attributed to the morphology of composites in which the particle size and specific surface area are modified with the incorporation of nanoparticles
