چکیده:

Electrophoretic deposition (EPD) method has been used to obtain TiO2 coatings on three dimensional (3-D) silver fibre substrates. Ag fibres were made by reduction of Ag complexes using filter paper as template. Colloidal suspensions of TiO2 nanoparticles of 20-30 nanometer size were made and used for deposition. The EPD parameters, i.e, deposition time and voltage, were optimized. During deposition with constant voltage it was observed that current decreased due to the increase of thickness of the coating. Scanning Electron Microscopy observations and EDS analysis revealed good penetration of titania nanoparticles into the fibre performs
