this paper presents the development of an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to estimate sediment transportation in a River . ANNs can solve complex (large – scale) problems that are currently intractable. In the present study a neural network is trained using some available geometrical can hydrological measurements. A MATLAB code was written to generalize conventional FFBP algorithm . the stopping criterion was a user-defined testing error or number of iterations. The results show that the existing model has good agreement with the measured ones.
