چکیده:

This paper presents a new approach to predict the process parameters in Abrasive Water Jet (AWJ) turning. The methodology involves the application of Finnie’s theory of erosion for estimation of volume of material removed assuming the impact of jet on the workpiece surface at an angle to account for the curvature of workpiece. Unlike earlier works, this model considers the change in local impact angle due to change in workpiece diameter and the corresponding change in volume of material removed. The radial depth and depth of penetration are calculated from the estimated volume of material removed.
