چکیده:

Electrodeposition behavior of an additive, epoxy-amino propyl triethoxysilane-diethanol amine, at different wt% was studied. The performance of this additive as an anticratering agent in an electrodeposition bath was investigated. Effect of prepared anticratering agent on some properties like gloss and primer-surfacer adhesion to cathodic electrocoating were evaluated. The resistance to crater formation in an oil contaminated commercial automotive electrocoat showed that presence of epoxy-amino propyl triethoxysilane-diethanol amine as an anticratering agent decreases number of craters at the cathode surface. The optimum amount of this anticratering agent was 0.4 wt%.
