چکیده:

Bacterial degradation of phenanthrene in soil was investigated at 30oCand 60% moisture. Under controlled condition, after 90 days 80 % of phenanthrene in soil was degraded.
In order to determine the effect of the total organic carbon content (TOCC) of the soil on biodegradation performance of phenanthrene , five different soil samples with different TOCC (13.3% , 3.38% , 1.71% , 0.78% , 0.5 % ) were prepared and the experiments were carried out as above . According to the results, the bioavailability of phenanthrene in soil samples with higher carbon content was lower. Also the results revealed that samples with carbon content of less than 4% have almost the same biodegradation rate for phenanthrene.
