چکیده:

Increasing demand for Internet access and multimedia services is a major factor for the fact of exploring last mile high-speed technologies. One of those technologies is Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) systems. The IEEE 802.16 air Interface standards is a specification for fixed broadband wireless access system. Since it does not dedicate the scheduling algorithm, there is a need for efficient packet and service scheduling schemes that provide QoS guarantees. This paper describes a novel scheduling technique based on genetic algorithms (GA),focusing on static and dynamic parameters of service classes. Performance of this technique is evaluated by simulation in an environment that is specially developed for this purpose.
