چکیده:

The effect of vibration on natural heat transfer from a horizontal steel cylinder, 0.6 cm. in diameter and 23 cm. long, in air was investigated experimentally. Two different amplitudes of 1.9 and 3.2 cm at the same frequency were considered. The surface–air temperature difference varied from 25°C to 55°C.Vibration enhances the heat transfer rate. Increasing the vibration amplitude increases the heat transfer coefficient and this effect is more obvious in the higher value of amplitude of vibration. Vibration decreases the sensitivity of heat transfer coefficient to Grashof number.
