چکیده:

Dynamic conditions of automotive valve trains are investigated by means of numerical models. The advantage of developing models capable of predicting the performance of any proposed valve train accurately is obvious. It is possible to include many effects such as nonlinearities due to valve lash, linkage separation, valve seating, and valve spring surge. The present paper develops a model for analyzing the valve dynamics using ADAMS software, and validates the predictions of the model using experimental results. Comparison between numerical and experimental results shows that the model predictions are realistic.
