چکیده:

An experimental sheet forming analysis is performed to evaluate the wrinkling defects in thermoplastic laminates reinforced with unidirectional continuous fibers. The composite laminates are manufactured using a film-stacking method in which polypropylene is used as matrix and glass fibers as reinforcement. A stamp forming process is carried out to produce a hemispherical geometry in the reinforced laminates. The laminate deformation is analyzed utilizing grids drawn on the initial geometry and measuring the coordinates of the grid nodes after deformation. The wrinkling defects are observed in some regions of the deformed geometry in which strain distributions are calculated and examined to determinethe reasons of defects.
