A full-wave analysis of microstrip discontinuities, including open-end and gap is presented using Multiwavelet-Based Method of Moments (MBMM). The method is rigorous in the sense that the exact Green’s function of the structure is used in conjunction with the moment method procedure. The electric currents on the line are expanded in terms of multiscalets with multiplicity licity of r = 2 as the basis functions near the discontinuity. We use the Galerkin’s method for testing and then take the discrete Sobolev–type inner product to discretize the integral equation and its derivative at the testing points. The LMS method is utilized in solving the nonsquare matrix equation arisen from this method. Since the numerical integration is not needed in the testing procedure, the new approach is faster and yet preserves high accuracy with smaller number of basis functions.
