Corrosion damage of reinforcing rebar is the principal cause ofdegradation and. failure for concrete structures. Due to formation ofrust, the steel bars begin to expand and the concrete begins to crack, which leads to gigantic safety and. integrity problems. During the last decades. the rebar have been protected by means of traditional anti-corrosion systems which have some problematic issues in technical, endurance & environmental aspects. The aim. of this report is to introduce a new high performance corrosion resistant rebar called Galvatore and compare it with other systems technically. Galvator® consists of a high density ultra pure atomized zinc layer applied on the surface of treated steel rebars which uniquely protects steel core physically and cathodically. According to the aggressive environments where these rebars are served. performance and reliability have great importance. Therefore. extensive experiments like atmospheric exposure. salt spray and electrochemical evaluation were conducted. Practical results indicate some advantages in the efficiency and durability in respect to traditional protection methods. Reports published by third party research centers are in good agreement with our outcome. According to the lab test, it is illustrated that the Galvator’" is a reliable and cost effective solution for protecting the reinforced concrete structures in corrosive environments.
