In this work, A Mixed Logic Dynamical (MLD) framework is obtained for a steam boiler. MLD is capable of modeling different types of systems like constrained hybrid systems, finite state machines and so on. In order to control the system, we have used model predictive method in explicit form which is an affine function of system states. In this method,the computation of MPC is moved off-line. Finally, the control performance has been illustrated bysimulations. The results are shown for two cases, one without system disturbance and the other with system disturbance. The results show that the off-line control law is easier to implement reducingto a look up table compared with on-line computation.
