Nano webs have significant applications in the area of medical and pharmaceutical products, filtration, barrier, wipes, personal care, composite, army garments, insulation, and energy storage. Web characteristics depend on web structure. Conventional techniques applied for nonwovens are not completely applicable to measure nano web properties due to small fiber size and thin structure. In the present work, the morphology of nano webs is analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and image processing techniques. Web density, fiber bonding, fiber orientation distribution, diameter distribution, pore numbers, pore size, pore shape, and uniformity of nano webs are evaluated by the developed method. The results show that the method is capable of characterizing nano webs.
